‘Beginner-friendly’ skating at Royal Pavilion Ice Rink this Christmas

Brighton’s Royal Pavilion Ice Rink is offering ‘beginner-friendly’ skate sessions from 10am to 11am daily this year, with skate marshalls on hand to offer top tips on learning how to skate, from the winter ice rink’s opening day on November 10 until January 20.

Said Shella Parkin, MD of Laine Ltd, who creates the rink every year: “The first session of the day is quieter and beginners are particularly welcome to come along and take the opportunity to get more confident on their skates, with help from our friendly marshalls.

After a session on the morning ice, skaters can also enjoy a delicious ‘elevenses’, with warming cups of hot chocolate, mulled wine, mince pies and other cheeky treats at Jamie Oliver’s Fabulous Feasts ‘pop-up’ rinkside restaurant and bar.

Continued Shella Parkin: “We want everyone to have the best possible experience this year and have introduced a range of new features, including more penguin skate aids for kids, as well as extending off-peak sessions so that more school children can enjoy skating after their school days at a low price.”

Royal Pavilion Ice Rink tickets cost from £10 for adults and £7 for children under 12 and the one-hour skate times run from 10am to 10.15pm daily. Box office is open from 9.30am to 9.45pm, but it is advisable to book tickets in advance.
