WE’RE IN ITV’s DANCING ON ICE!

Brighton’s beautiful Royal Pavilion Ice Rink was revealed as the surprise location for the opening sequence of the new hit ITV show Dancing on Ice, when the first episode was broadcast on Sunday 7 January.

Dancing on Ice celebrities visited the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink in November to shoot the show’s opening title sequence, but the rink organisers were sworn to secrecy until the show went live.

Stars who visited the rink include singer/presenter Cheryl Baker, Scottish rugby player Max Evans, singer Lemar, model and actress Donna Air, Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford and track athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton.

Shella Parkin, CEO of Laine Ltd, creator of the rink said: “It was a real pleasure to host the Dancing on Ice team at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink. We hope the programme will inspire more people to enjoy the magic of ice skating!”

The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink’s winter season runs for just one more week, up to and including Sunday 14th January, so skating fans have a last chance to take to the ice and enjoy a magical experience with the beautiful Royal Pavilion Regency pleasure palace as back drop.

Off peak sessions run until 5.15pm on week days, including a Juice Happy Hour, with Juice 107.2, straight after school at 4.15pm and the ice rink is open from 10am until 10.15pm, with the last skate session at 9.15pm. The Bar & Kitchen, with its 40-metre terrace overlooking the ice, stays open until late offering hearty meals, including a fantastic after school menu for kids and a great bar selection with a range of craft beers, 14 different gins, and mulled wine or cider.

Tickets cost from £10 for full price tickets (aged 12 and over), £7 for juniors (under 12) and the one-hour skate times run from 10am to 9.15pm daily. Club Rinkidinks (daily, second session of the day, 11.15am to 12.15pm) offers children under five the chance to skate for free when accompanied on the ice by an adult paying full price. There are also great new multiticket offers for those who want to skate regularly (check website for details) and concessions for students. The box office is open from 9.30am to 9.45pm, but it is advisable to book tickets online in advance.
