WE’RE IN ITV’s DANCING ON ICE!

Brighton’s beautiful Royal Pavilion Ice Rink was revealed as the surprise location for the opening sequence of the new hit ITV show Dancing on Ice, when the first episode was broadcast on Sunday 7 January.

Dancing on Ice celebrities visited the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink in November to shoot the show’s opening title sequence, but the rink organisers were sworn to secrecy until the show went live.

Stars who visited the rink include singer/presenter Cheryl Baker, Scottish rugby player Max Evans, singer Lemar, model and actress Donna Air, Good Morning Britain’s Alex Beresford and track athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton.

Shella Parkin, CEO of Laine Ltd, creator of the rink said: “It was a real pleasure to host the Dancing on Ice team at the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink. We hope the programme will inspire more people to enjoy the magic of ice skating!”

The Royal Pavilion Ice Rink’s winter season runs for just one more week, up to and including Sunday 14th January, so skating fans have a last chance to take to the ice and enjoy a magical experience with the beautiful Royal Pavilion Regency pleasure palace as back drop.

Off peak sessions run until 5.15pm on week days, including a Juice Happy Hour, with Juice 107.2, straight after school at 4.15pm and the ice rink is open from 10am until 10.15pm, with the last skate session at 9.15pm. The Bar & Kitchen, with its 40-metre terrace overlooking the ice, stays open until late offering hearty meals, including a fantastic after school menu for kids and a great bar selection with a range of craft beers, 14 different gins, and mulled wine or cider.

Tickets cost from £10 for full price tickets (aged 12 and over), £7 for juniors (under 12) and the one-hour skate times run from 10am to 9.15pm daily. Club Rinkidinks (daily, second session of the day, 11.15am to 12.15pm) offers children under five the chance to skate for free when accompanied on the ice by an adult paying full price. British Champions launch magical season

Skating champions Zoe Jones and Christopher Boyadji skated their way into the new season of the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink at the VIP launch party. The figure skating duo treated 400 invited guests to a magical display to the song “It’s a Man’s World” by Seal, before the ice was opened to guests for the first time this season.

After teaming up in June 2016, Zoe & Chris were crowned 2016 British Senior Pairs Champion and represented Great Britain at the European & World Championships. This year the pair have participated in two international events in Europe and have beaten their best score. Zoe is a particularly unique skater, having retired from skating for 13 years before her 2016 come back and being the only woman on the international level to have children.

Said Chris Boyadji: “We have had a wonderful time opening the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink for the second year running! It’s such a fabulous place to skate and is unlike anywhere else in the world!”

Tickets now on sale for 2017/18 winter season!

Tickets are now on sale for the South East’s most beautiful winter ice rink, the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink, opening for its eighth year from 4th November 2017 to 14th January 2018.

The ice skating tickets go on sale just two weeks after ITV announced that its hit show, ‘Dancing on Ice’, is returning to our screens in early 2018 for the first time since 2014 – inspiring visitors to the rink to channel their inner Torvill and Dean.

“We are looking forward to welcoming visitors back to our enchanting rink this year and hope that everyone will take advantage of this unique seasonal opportunity to enjoy the ice and to see Brighton at its twinkling best,” said Shella Parkin, MD of Laine Ltd, creator of the Royal Pavilion Ice Rink.

“We’re passionate about providing the best possible Christmas experience for visitors – from our ice quality and maintenance created by cutting edge rink technology and resurfacing, to comfy boots, separate beginners area, beautiful rinkside restaurant and staff who really love what they do. We’re very blessed with our location so the rink is always a beautiful place to visit, but my favourite time to skate with my kids is after school during the week, when the rink’s slightly quieter and they can stretch their legs a bit. And we can’t wait to try out the new stone-baked kids pizza after a skate too!”
